Coming to the top budget laptop, Lenovo may not have been a prominent choice for the laptop buyers but when you are looking for an under Rs. 25,000 laptop but I will say that the laptop we are reviewing is the best in terms of value for money.

On the alternative if you can spend a little more there is also an Acer Aspire 3 Laptop which comes with an 8th Generation i3 processor and a Full HD Screen. You may not know but Acer is an electronics manufacturer based in Taiwan. They entered the smartphone segment last year with the liquid series but seemingly now focusing on laptop and desktop counterparts only.

Coming back to the laptop in question Lenovo Ideapad series offers a good built quality with features which made us choose this as the best laptop under Rs 25,000.

Design and Build Quality

As we mentioned previously the build quality of Lenovo Ideapad 330 is ok for the price but still they have incorporated high quality polycarbonate for the laptop structure.

The texture is of matte finish which provides a good feel to the laptop. They keyboard is a full sized one with good spacing for efficient typing and the touchpad is responsive as well.

One thing we didn’t like was the placement of the exhaust vents which are placed at the back of the laptop. On normal usage when placed on the desk, they will perform flawlessly. However when using on the lap, you might feel some discomfort.

The hinge mechanism is also robust and offers a nice experience while opening or closing the lid. This version also comes with a 180 degree hinge mechanism.

Performance

Now the best part about this laptop is that it is powered by a 7th generation core i3-7020U processor clocked at 2.3 GHz which easily offer 30% performance increase over the 6th generation counterparts.

You also get a new integrated graphics processor with the 7th generation core i3 that is the Intel HD 620 integrated graphics offering smooth videos playback.

Both of these together are capable of running all the programs with ease and provide you with a smooth experience on windows or linux OS.

Display

This Lenovo laptop has a 15.6 inch led, with a resolution of 1366×768. The Amazon listing for this laptop suggest that this has a a HD display with Anti Glare Technology.

Apart from that this laptop also has a web camera for skype or any other face to face conversations.

Miscellaneous

This model of Lenovo laptop is provided with a standard 1TB eSATA HDD which is good enough for storing huge amounts of data may it be files, pictures or even your favorite movies.

There is also a pre-installed 4GB DDR4 RAM clocked at 2133MHz. It can be expanded upto 8GB as per the manufacturer.

There is no preinstalled windows in this one, however you may find DOS preinstalled which offers a option yo install OS of your choice. Drivers for Windows 10 are available on Lenovo website. You can also install Linux based OS on it. A window user might not agree with my statement but still even for basic usage Linux will serve you better than a dos platform. You can also install a windows OS in case you already have purchased it previously.

Connectivity

On the connectivity front there is one USB Type-C port, 2 USB 3.0 ports and the regular slew of ports such as an RJ 45 port, an HDMI port along with an SD card reader.

Battery Life

Lenovo has provided a Lithium Polymer battery with this laptop with rated power usage of upto 5 hours which in real world might give around 4 hours on normal usage.

Pros:

  • 7th Generation Processor
  • USB 3.1 port

Cons:

  • Sound quality could be better

Verdict

Overall if you don’t have any issue with brand name, then for the price and processor which is Core i3 7th Generation we would say this is the best one to grab under Rs. 25,000.

You can also look for other options like an AMD A9 powered laptop here which offers dedicated 2GB Radeon 530 graphics.
